Welcome! This is a very new shop and I'll be adding lots of other items soon. Look out for more hip bags, hip pouches, bags, hats, aprons, coin pouches, tote bags and shoulder bags. All made from recycled, salvaged or found materials.
I designed this hip bag for myself in my other role as a countryside ranger. I wanted to carry a bunch of items with me - and have them more accessible than they would be in a rucksack. A shoulder bag wouldn't do because I need to be able to dig, strim, and saw among other things. I need to carry a phone or two, a notebook and pen, penknife, fence tester, hankie, shee wee, resussie-aid, dog poo bags ( not mine!) wallet and spare contacts.
Other people carry other things - but everyone delights in not having their bag swing in front of them. If you know an outdoor type with an environmental bent and too many rucksacks then a hip bag made of responsibly-sourced fabrics might just be the ideal gift.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
This robust hip bag measures 21 cm tall, 20 cm wide and 5 cm deep. There's a main compartment, closed with an elasticated draw string, and 6 other pockets. There are 2 front pockets - one zipped - which are suitable for most phones. The side pockets are ideal for pens and penknives. The back pocket is 16 x 12 cm - perfect for a small notebook. The inner pocket acts as an internal divider.
The hip bag is designed to be worn low on the right flank - out of the way for drivers. It's attached with an adjustable 4cm wide webbing strap, fastened with a side release buckle.
The hip bag is made from the left overs from larger projects undertaken at the local sail loft. Mulberry canvas from a shade sail job, beige from a bistro canopy and the black is left over from making a protective surf board bag. The pocket linings and top closure are made from fabric recycled from a reclaimed tent. All saved from landfill.
