I love wildflowers and meadows and have been trying to learn more about them. In fact, I had many lovely wildflowers in my wedding bouquet.

Full description
This textile brooch is made from 100% wool felt and has been hand embroidered with a wildlower called Devil's-bit Scabious. The wildflower can grow to 80cm tall and flowers from July to September. My embroidered Devil's-bit Scabious is always in flower! The head of the flower had been embroidered using french knots in purple thread with tiny stab stitches all around the head. The stem has been embroidered in split stitch in green and a single thread of purple to give the stem a soft hazy look as the stem of the plant is covered in soft hairs.
The embroidery has been backed onto a thick piece of wool felt to make the brooch sturdy. A silver coloured brooch back has been attached to the 100% wool felt so the brooch is strong and secure.
All of my brooches come attached to a decorative card as you can see in the last photo.
