The applique samples were made on a workshop and I have just been waiting for the right project to use them. They marry well with the clear vinyl that I am experimenting with a the moment and I am really pleased with the result. A truly unique and useable piece.

Full description
This completely unique zipped pouch has a multitude of uses and the clear vinyl means you can see exactly what is inside.
It is decorated with 2 applique 8cm squares which have been created from scraps of fabric in shades of blue and embellished with silver rickrack, sequins, beads, charms and fabric printed crabs all topped off with some free motion embroidery. Sandwiched between 2 layers of clear vinyl, a border of navy machine stitching keep them in place.
2 pieces of cream rickrack have been machine stitched in place to give the illusion of waves.
The pale grey all purpose zip has a gold starfish detachable zipper charm and a border of a multi blue batik cotton to give strength to this piece.
The boxed bottom allows this pouch to free stand and the is machine sewn with a navy thread.
