A lovely tealight holder with a winters scene of an owl and stag amongst the birch trees..
This piece is thrown on the wheel by Rosemary. Once dry enough to handle, tiny stars are cut through the clay, and a white slip is applied. Using a technique called scraffito Rosemary then scratches the design onto the piece.
After the first firing coloured oxides and a clear glazed are applied before the final firing to 1085 deg c.
Approx 9cm tall, 9.5cm diameter,Designed to take a tealight it makes a perfect addition for a cosy winters night.
