I have always had a interest in abstract art, and for this series of abstract prints I wanted to use a series of drawings of stones that I had created to make some large-scale abstract screen-prints. I had never worked on this scale before, in such an experimental way, and with so many colours! It was a lot of fun.

This is a hand-pulled screen-print entitled 'Stone Composition No.1' printed in orange, brown, light grey, dark grey and black.
This print is part of a series called 'Stone Compositions'. The images started off as drawings in pencil and pen of stones I had found, mostly from the UK coast. I was interested in the natural textures and patterns and wanted to play with the images and make them into semi-abstract compositions as large screen-prints.
Orange, brown, light grey, dark grey and (almost) black System 3 inks on off-white 300gsm acid-free slightly textured 100% cotton rag Somerset paper. From a limited edition of only ten, signed, titled and numbered.
The paper measures H76xW56cm.
Printed by myself at Sheffield Print Club, Sheffield, UK. Each one is slightly different, as is the nature with screen-prints.
All prints will be posted unframed, and securely in a card tube by Royal Mail Special Delivery first-class post (UK) or Airmail (rest of the world).
