This necklace is an abstracted section from a drawing of a hummingbirds wings in motion.
To create this range I drew different birds wings in motion, repeating the wing next to where it had last been. Using a variety of images to draw inspiration from, including diagrams that show the motion of a wing moving, as well as Charlie Harper's graphic images of birds.
I finally selected the hummingbird due to the multiple movements in its wing beat which i felt helped create the feeling of movement in a static image.

Full description
A brass necklace made from wire which I have soldered together and then rolled to create a flat surface.
Riveted to the wire is navy blue and red tin from old advertising tins that I collect, making this necklace unique.
The S clasp is handmade from sterling silver and the pendant is on red silk.
