This tall and slim journal has hard covers featuring a recycled vintage map of Mull and Oban (Scotland's West Coast). The pages are a mix of blank cartridge papers, great for writers, sketchers, or doodlers. The book has been bound together with the traditional coptic stitch, which allows the pages to open flat. Little sections of the map have been salvaged and made into tags to add a fun detail.

This journal measures 10.8cm x 22cm with a spine of 2.3cm. It has been bound with very strong, off-white linen thread. There are 8 signatures giving you a total of 128 pages if you count both sides. Thick cartridge paper has been used throughout - great for all media.

The repurposed nature of the cover gives this journal a rustic feel and could be used in many ways. And because the map was pre loved and well used it has a few bashes and scuffs which all add character. Use this book as a writing journal, sketchbook, art journal or travel journal. Full of possibilities and ready for adventure!

I love paper of all kinds so I learned how to make books so I could make something beautiful and useful with paper. I am drawn to papers with a bit of history, especially vintage maps, books and postcards. This vintage map was in need of some tlc, so rather than let it languish on a charity shop shelf, I repurposed it into something you can use and treasure again.
