Full description
This is a unique original small abstract drawing, using a series of facets or random shapes. The facets are based on a random grid of lines, with edges aligning and overlapping to give an underlying structure to the design which might not be apparent at a first glance. Each one is shaded to give the effect of depth and direction and an illusion of layers, which on closer inspection are disconcertingly inconsistent. The colour palette was chosen from exactly the same selection of colours which I had just used for a realistic animal portrait, but by using them in this abstract design the effect is completely different!
Using artist-quality coloured pencils on heavy weight paper for a high-quality professional finish, the picture is presented in an off-white / pale cream colour mount, with backing board and protected in a clear cellophane bag. Measuring (with mount) 8” wide by 10” tall (image size 5” by 7”) - that’s approximately 20 by 25 (12 by 18) in cm - it will fit a readily-available standard-size frame. If you don't have space to display a large work of art, you can still own an original artwork with this small drawing.
