Item details

This item is made out of blue leather with a fabric flap hand printed with real leaves from the garden.

The bag is my own design and is totally unique. It measures 20 x 20cm (8") and is 18 cm (7") high. The gusset is 5cm (2") wide and the flap measures 16cm (6.5") x 11.5cm (4.5")

The shoulder strap measures 120cm (just under 47") and is 5cm (2") wide

The bag features leaves and I have picked leaves from the garden and printed onto fabric using a gel plate (home made from jelly). Each leaf is then quilted to give texture. There are 3 small blue leather leaves appliquéd onto the flap to add detail.
The main body of the bag has 10 free machine embroidered white cotton leave outlines with veins to provide details.

The bag fastener is a leather cord which wraps around a metal button which has a stag design. The button is held on via a metal rod.

The bag features retro buttons and belt buckle from the 1960's (from my Grandmothers button box).

The strap is a duel colour with both blue and fawn colour leather sewn together.

The inspiration for this bag is nature. If you take a look at any item in my shop you will find that nature is the key element to everything I do. I love leaves, the shapes, the colours and looking out of my workshop window one day I spied some leaves that I thought would print well and this is the result.

I never know quite what I will be making - every items is completely different.
