I use textile art to create one off pieces from wall hangings to cushions, bags, journals and more. Every piece handmade and unique.

My name is Wendy Usher and for the past 40 years I have been supporting disabled children. Now, I am newly retired and have time to go back to my second love textile art. I use everything I can get my hands on to create one off pieces mostly inspired by the natural world.

I have a very patient and wonderful husband Martin who makes me things like a heddle loom (made from the end of one of my grandchildren's old cot). He never gets fazed if I dye fabric with leaves from trees or I constantly spin fleece on my spinning wheel. He never knows quite what I will make, but that is the joy - nor do I!

I am inspired by the natural world and we travel around in our camper van Ronnie across the UK and beyond and take hundreds of photographs.

My workshop is in rural Bedfordshire and I have stunning views across the countryside. I enjoy walking, cycling but mostly playing with my 3 granddaughters

There will always be different things appearing in the shop. It is a place to look for that unique gift, something special for yourself, or somewhere to see something that you just love. Everything will be send out with an explanatory sheet to say how the work has been done, what materials have been used in the process and why I made it.

Buying from me

I make everything from scratch, dying my own fabrics and designing my own work to bring unique one-off pieces of textile art from wall hangings, journals, to bags and purses.

The shop includes items made from free machine embroidery, stitch and quilting, wood and weaving, hand spun and hand dyed wool, leather and fabric prints using lino cuts. There are diverse modern design pieces and work that takes it's inspiration from the natural world. I experiment daily, so keep on looking as new techniques will appear each week.

All items come with an information sheet so can purchase a gift with an explanation as to how it has been made and the story behind it. Many of the items are from re-used materials and items found in the natural world.

Everything is made from my workshop in beautiful Bedfordshire or travelling around the UK in Ronnie our camper van!

Look out of the window and see a leaf from a tree, or a cloud in the sky, I use inspiration around me every day to experiment, play and create. Take a look at the shop, there is are always new items, so keep on looking.

Returns Policy

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.
