Hi, I'm Bekki. Welcome to my shop
My Wildflower textile art purse was nominated for the National Needlecraft Award 2019 for 'best use of embroidery in fashion and accessories'. Check out my new textile art purse collection
The inspiration for this brooch came from one of my favourite activities when I visit my mum. She has a lovely garden with a big lavender patch which the bees love to buzz around and I love to watch them while they work and rub some of the lavender in my hands to enjoy the lovely scent.

Full description
A sweet little textile art brooch with hand embroidered lavender swaying in the breeze while a trio of busy bees buzz around and collect the nectar and pollen. The lavender blossom has been embroidered using clusters of french knots with back stitch for the stems and long stitch leaves. All of these stitches create lots of texture in the piece. The bees have been added to look like they are busy with their work; buzzing, flying and landing on the lavender. The three bees are stitched with tiny details and the stitches, the bees wings are tiny lazy daisy stitches. Each bee measures a little more than 2mm long. They are teensy.
This summer scene has been embroidered on to a piece of grey wool felt which was then sewn onto a square of thick wool felt. This makes the brooch quite sturdy and strong. A standard silver coloured brooch pin has been attached securely to the back ready to be pinned to a top, a hat or bag or anything you fancy. This brooch is a wearable piece of textile art and would be a lovely gift for someone special whether they are a mum, sister, daughter, wife or a bridesmaid or a nice treat for you.
Each of my brooches will arrive attached to a piece of card that is blank on the back for you to add a message if you would like.
Measurements approx.4.2cm x 3.6cm.
