Hello everyone - I have just reduced the price of many items in my shop to make way for new work - please browse the 'sale' section to find bargain buttons, brooches, wall decorations and wall hangings...
This highly textured artwork shows my interpretation of Mungrisdale in The Lake District, visited on a bright December day. The clear, lavender blue sky, grey and khaki of the hillside and the greens and oranges of the bracken and grasses are represented in this abstract landscape.
The rag rug technique used is called 'prodding'. The textiles used are all repurposed/recycled and worked through a hessian ground fabric.
The textile has been mounted in a square of white mount board, and is ready to frame.
The mount board measures approx:-
16 inches square (40.7 cm square)
The textile art measures approx:-
8 & 3/4 inches (22 cm) high
7 inches (18 cm) wide
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
This piece was recently exhibited at the 'Hanging By A Thread' exhibition at Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries.
Please note that the grey area surrounding the white mount board in the first photo is just the background that the item was photographed on.
Due to the size of this piece when packaged, it will be sent by courier, taking around 3 - 5 working days to arrive, after dispatch.
The wonderful colours of The Lake District inspired this abstract interpretation of the landscape.
