My inspiration comes mainly from the stones themselves, with their wonderful colours and patterns they evoke images of nature, local habitats and distant landscapes. I may work from sketches if I have a particular idea in mind, or just let the wire run away with me……….the unpredictable nature of this can be quite exciting!
This method of working is time consuming, but I love the simplicity of working with wire, weaving and layering to add texture and dimension. I like earthy, adventurous styling that doesn’t overpower the natural stones, and is robust enough for everyday wear. Wire provides texture and movement, and the structural qualities required to safely encapsulate the stones and follow their form. To weave and twist in a freeform style gives the pieces an energy rarely seen in mass produced jewellery.

Snaking copper wire woven with subtle, soft green aventurine, peridot and pyrite beads make this understated pendant a perfect addition to your spring and summer jewellery collection. A robust everyday wear necklace with muted grey-green leather cord.

This jewellery has been created using weaving techniques to achieve an interesting, energetic form that flows. Aventurine, peridot and pyrite natural stone beads are held securely in copper wire, intricately wrapped and manipulated to be structurally sound and complimentary to the shape and character of the stones.
This piece has been oxidised to give an antique appearance.
