Thank you for visiting

I've been in awe of Gorse since I was a youngster, running along the coastal path heading for a rock-climb down to a remote beach, hot summer air thick with its heady ephemeral fragrance. Bees buzzing its blossom.

I got picked up & dumped down in a Gorse Bush by a Gale when I was ten…that seemed unnecessary!!!

I’ve been grateful for it when recklessly scaling a vertical cliff to shortcut back to the coastal path as an adult, after rock hopping around the coast - hoping its tough roots can be relied upon when grabbing it to haul myself up, impossible not to avoid its painful spikes.

It’s hardcore. I adore its delicate flower petals & vibrant contribution to a colourful coast. I’m reverent of its dense thorny Furze which protects wildlife & grows in wild places - Gorse is incredible for many reasons.

In Cornwall it cheerfully blooms all year, reminding us of summer in the depths of winter. The Gorse in this card was growing, up at Ding Dong Mine.

Full description

Gorse (or Furze) ...scattering Cornwall's coast with colour all year

Rich Gorse Yellow Blossom in detail contrasting against Deep Green Thorn, celebrating it's unique beauty

Each blossom has been hand inked individually on the block to achieve the blended colour in different directions. I've done this to give the flowers depth & life.

3 impressions using gorgeous letterpress inks on beautiful paper. The colours are richer than I can get the photos to show.

Card is blank inside & info on the back hand-set in old letterpress, hand inked & printed on my ancient Press.

:: 250gsm Specialist Artist Paper hand torn to size

:: Card size is 85mm x 115 mm

:: Recycled Envelope size is 95mm - 122mm

:: Sealed into a compostable cornstarch clear-bag

:: Inside is blank for you to write your own personal message

:: Cards will be sent carefully packed in a repurposed board protected, recycled package

It's very hard to convey, in a photograph, the truly beautiful physical quality of the ink & it's colour on this gorgeously soft-to-touch paper - very tactile!

The photos disguise the soft matt quality of the paper & ink

Cards will vary slightly due to the nature of hand production making each card unique & original
