The Hydrogen was built in 1906 and is largest surviving wooden Thames Barge in existence but once there were a fleet of these majestic boats shipping their trade all along the East Coast. She is now moored in Maldon, Essex and takes visitors along the river, is used for functions, weddings and cream teas.
This quality print is 8 x 10 and comes in a pale cream mount, ready to put in a 10 x 12 frame of your choice. This size is standard and is universally available. It was printed using Epson inks on Epson heavyweight matt paper.
This lovely boat arrived in Burnham for just one day so I took the opportunity to paint it several times from different angles. The morning was bright and early making the sunlight a major feature. Looking at the bow the sky was yellow but from the stearn, the spring scene became bathed in pink.
