The Hydrogen was built in 1906 and is the largest surviving wooden Thames Barge in existence but once there was a fleet of these majestic boats shipping their trade all along the East Coast. She is now moored on the river Blackwater at Maldon, Essex and takes visitors along the river to see the seals, is used for functions, weddings and afternoon teas.
Please select from the CHOOSE OPTIONS drop down box above whether a card or a print is required. For your convenience I offer standard frame and mount sizes (which may involve some small, careful cropping by me). Cards are not ideal for framing. There is an extra cost for larger prints which is shown next to the size option.
This comes sealed in a cello bag and recycled or recyclable packing where possible and is posted out using first class large letter post.
This lovely boat arrived in Burnham for a day so I took the opportunity to paint it several times from different angles. The morning was bright and early making the sunlight a major feature. Looking at the bow the sky was yellow but from the stearn, the spring scene became bathed in pink.
