Inspired by our visit to a photography exhibition on tattoo art, we set about creating a piece that will hopefully appeal to lovers of tattoo art and those just looking for something different.

The tattoo style heart is framed by roses, standing proud in the centre of the piece. Raised to the maximum height possible the scroll declaring your love shines bright. Created using thick scarlet red card, on a deep blue background with a vibrant starburst this design evokes a vintage style.

Designed to be enjoyed both in the daytime and at night, the light-wire, woven between the various layers, gives off a soft red glow. At night the heart glows bright, with the word 'Love' shining above The border of roses, set in a black frame add further depth to the piece.

How it's made:

The piece is made using high quality, 300gsm Daler-Rowney card. The card is printed, cut and mounted on a back-board within the frame to create a layered, three-dimensional artwork.

The frame size is 24x24cm square and 3.5cm deep. The 3D image is 20x20x2cm square.

Powered by 2xAA batteries the light can be turned on or off at the back of the frame.
