This free form pendant features an asymmetric cabochon of synthetic fordite bezel set in sterling silver, the synthetic fordite is mainly stripy in shades of black, white and silver with a bright splash of metallic (sparkly) emerald green on one side.
Fordite is layers of cured car paint that built up in the old spray booths at car plants but changes to the method of painting cars means it is no longer formed at car factories. This is a modern version that formed at the paint factory that supplies car body shops with paint and pre painted parts, so it is not a true fordite but neither is it the faux fordite which is made from epoxy resin. I cut the cabochon myself and you can see the pendant sat on the rough material in one of the pictures. If you want to see examples of fordite from car plants please look at the collection in my folksy shop where I have examples covering about 50 years of automotive fashions, this material looks almost identical to those.
Measures 25mm by 18mm excluding the bail and comes complete with a sterling silver chain in a gift box.
