Full description

A lovely natural Golden Pyrite ammonite Fossil specimen, within matrix rock, ideal for display as it is, or as a centre piece in an ornamental display for the garden or home, or maybe an office paper weight for the geological or fossil collector in the house! Ideal as a photography prop too.

The lovely Ammonite has been whittled and gently cleaned front and back within the natural rock, to showcase to good advantage.

It is difficult to make out in the photos, but the Pyrite Ammonite shine with antique gold colour, the matrix rock is deep slate grey.

Ammonites were located in our seas & oceans over 150 million years ago and now found abundantly as fossils in special locations such as the Jurassic coast in Dorset.

The dimensions of this wonderful specimen is that it measures approx 5.5cms by 6.2cms & with a depth of approx 15mms at its thickest point. however is is irregular as hopefully can be seen in the photos.

The colours range from antique gold to Slate Grey!

A real testament to longevity & would make a wonderful gift for a long term friendship, a token of everlasting love or just something wonderful for budding geologists or fossil hunters!

The fossil has been worked and whitttled slightly, after retrieving it from the ground, to remove extraneous rock, debris and removal of overly sharp edges and to high light the stunning large ammonite, but otherwise has been left as near to possible as it was found.
