large applique & hand embroidered zombie penguin – "Oswald"
this zombie penguin measures 27cm (10") from the top of his lumpen head to the tips of his toes.
with his arm-flippers outstretched, he has a glorious 35cm (14") wingspan.
i’ve hand dyed the cotton calico a corpse-grey colour, then pale blue irish linen & cotton fabrics have been appliqued, with the details drawn on using freehand machine embroidery. his tummy patch, and a co-ordinating heart on his bottom, feature a pale blue snowflake print cotton.
textural details have been added to both the front and back of the penguin, with hand embroidery, and his eyeballs are hand embroidered.
penguin has been made entirely on a domestic sewing machine – there is no computerised wizardry here - everything is cut, stitched & drawn freehand by me.
penguin is made from heavy weight calico. he's stuffed with polyester filling (CE & BS5852), and finished by hand.
i pre-wash all of my fabrics so they’re soft and shouldn’t shrink if washed – whilst every care’s been taken, please wash with dark colours as dye may run, and colours will fade.
