Circular dish with a beautiful John Dory fish sculpted in its midst.This bowl is entirely hand made in a white stoneware clay body. A drawn surface design meanders over the main body of the fish. Its details accentuated by the use of copper oxide and completed with a clear glaze.The fish is hollow and has the addition of a view hole through which it is possible to see delicate carving of a skeleton. Its fins gracefully appear to move as if in water. This vessel has a circumference of 27cm

Legend has it that the large spot on the side of a John Dory fish is a finger print left by its creator.This is a beautiful fish which I hope I have captured in essence. Its fins gently caress the sides of the vessel as if in actual movement. By making a viewing hole I hope to create a point of intrigue, a place to peer into its body and glimpse the skeleton structure.
