Aqua and gold make a perfect combination for summer jewellery, and these earrings are the ideal accessory to catch the sunshine! These aqua green amazonite drops look striking against the rich colour of the gold filled ear wires. The drops hang 20mm long from hand made ear wires.
What does ‘gold filled’ mean?
Gold filled jewellery lies somewhere between gold plated and solid gold. With gold filled wire and findings you still have a layer of gold over a base metal core, but because of the way the gold is bonded to the core you get a much thicker coating than you do with gold plating. This makes it much more durable so it shouldn’t flake or wear away with normal wear, unlike plated jewellery, and it is a much more affordable alternative to solid gold. It is also sometimes known as rolled gold.
