Full description
I have made this Dorset button on a 32mm brass ring using a cotton Perle shade changing thread in shades of grey from a dark almost black charcoal to a light silvery grey. It has been embroidered with french knots for a 3D effect resembling a bouquet of flowers or a tree laden with fruit or blossoms.
There is a brooch bar with a safety catch sewn firmly on the back.
It maybe relatively small but nevertheless it is still a lovely adornment for a coat, jacket,cardigan etc.
A perfect little gift for a special someone.
Dorset Button making is an old cottage industry, whole families would be making them from necessity to put food on the table, I now make them for pleasure and to help keep these old crafts alive.
