Item details

This is a miniature applique blackbird with a tiny heart in his beak. I have hand-stitched everything with care and used a pretty old roses cotton print as the background. There are many other designs in my shop, something for every occasion! Each carefully worked miniature is a gift in itself to keep (frame?) as well as a card in which to write your message.
The cards measure 12 x 9 cm and come with recycled toning paper envelope in a protective cellophane sleeve. Each card is signed on the front, where the title is also written 'Little Blackbird' and my studio stamp is on the back. Cards are made from stout 100% recycled card - blank inside.

I love the blackbirds in my garden, and enjoy listening to the beautiful songs they sing. There are several nests here and I have been watching the comings and goings over recent weeks, from the busy nest-building period to the arrival of the ever-demanding offspring sitting about waiting to be fed by their parents with what we have provided on the bird-table. I have always enjoyed drawing and stitching bird shapes and there are a lot of birds to be found in my work.
