Gold Baroque Gothic Medusa Crucifix

This wall hanging piece is inspired by Santa Muerte and Greek mythology
A unique piece inspired by Baroque painting & architecture. The Baroque is often thought of as a period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture.
Also taking a lot of influences from Mexican Folk Art and The Day Of The Dead festival and the cult of Santa Muerte with mixture of Greek mythology

Made with metal and plastic with reclaimed jewellery such as , vintage necklace, diamonds and found objects in the tradition of Outsider Art all hand painted.
The skulls eyes have gold diamonds that reflect beautifully with the light
Dripping with gold snakes and sharp reclaimed jewellery to make the piece ghoulish and almost sinister.
The actual cross is from a funeral home which gives this piece more depth and meaning
