A chunky little hand woven coaster, made from rustic hard wearing Lithuanian sheep wool. This wool has been carefully naturally dyed in the forests of Lithuania with oak and indigo which gives it a subtle variation of tone.
This wool is prepared using traditional methods, by washing it in pond water. This retains a lot of the natural lanolin, and makes these coasters are water resistant.
Measures 10 x 10 cm excluding fringing and 10 x 17.5 including it.
Made from 100% natural sheep wool, which has a coarse, sturdy texture and a strong white jute warp.
Spot clean or can be gently hand washed in cool water.

I was so excited to discover this wool, which is dyed by hand using plants in the forests of Lithuania! I love supporting small businesses, and by using this wool I know where it comes from, how it is made and that I am supporting another indie maker. The colours of this wool are beautiful and subtle and it is so practical to use for coasters because it is water resistant! These coasters are very strong and hard wearing, and I make them by hand of my small frame loom.
