Vegan friendly woven textiles and crochet along with hand painted jewellery

I'm Isobel, a textile and jewellery artist living in the beautiful town of Guildford with my boyfriend Julian and our cat Benji

When I first started weaving, like many fiber artists I used wool, in all sorts of colours and textures. I loved experimenting with different wool to create hand woven tapestries, table runners and coasters and began selling my work online and at craft fairs.
At one craft fair I had a lovely chat with a vegan lady who really liked the style of my work but didn't buy any woollen items because of her beliefs. I remember feeling so crestfallen that my work wasn't inclusive for someone who so clearly valued handmade items, and decided to start using some vegan friendly yarns in my work.
Fast foward a few years and I became vegan myself, and noticed that while the art of weaving has really taken off lately there are not that many weavers who offer exclusively vegan textiles.

All of my weavings are made without the use of animal fibres, making them suitable for anyone who likes colourful contemporary textiles, whether they are vegan or not!

Alongside my hand woven textiles I create colourful and contemporary hand painted jewellery, often using unusual and upcycled materials such as ochre pigment and tiddlywinks counters! My weaving and jewellery pieces often influence each other, sharing similar colour palettes and inspiration, so it made sense for me to combine my 2 passions together and offer them here for you to enjoy : )

More recently I discovered crochet, and have not been able to put my hook down since! I'm hoping to offer a curated collection of crochet headbands and more, so watch this space.....
