It was one of those moments rummaging through a basket of lace remnants - this particular design caught my eye. I'm a huge fan of purple, even got married in the colour, but it wasn't just that that I loved - it was the wistful trailing pattern that spread across the lace. There was something delicate about it, punctuated by little rosettes of colour. I could see little circular snapshots of it with light pouring through ... and so they became disc fairy lights. I love that each disc has its own character, there is no repeat. Some are the heroes and have a full design of clustered flowers, others simply have one meandering leafy trail of pale green. I love these. Can you tell?

Full description
This delicately trailing floral lace just had to be used for lighting. Through the process of wet felting, the wool fibres are drawn through the open lace to create a single sheet of tactile fabric, which is then cut and mounted onto each of the 20 warm white LED bulbs.
By day the lights display soft tones of natural white, pales greens and shades of purple. When illuminated, the stitched pattern looks stronger against the warm glow that radiates through the wool. With their gentle, vintage feel they'd make a beautiful addition to a bedroom, whether woven through a bed frame or draped along a wall. In a living room, why not coil them into a glass vase for dramatic effect?
The felted discs are hot glued around each bulb. The LED bulbs produce no heat and the chain is battery operated, so can be safely displayed anywhere. The clear chain is just over 2m in length with approximately 8cm between lights and a distance of 30cm to a compact white battery compartment. They will require 2xAA batteries (not included). Each disc is 5cm in diameter and no two are the same.
The lights are presented in a brown ribbed Kraft box with layers of natural tissue paper. This will be double boxed for posting and sent First Class, requiring a signature upon delivery.
