Years ago I did a craft fair at Lotherton Hall, between York and Leeds. The craft fair was in a building just beyond an aviary with a large number of parrots. I found that I could get a parrot shape to enamel and decided to try to capture the vibrance of these birds ib enamel.

Full description
This parrot measures 55mm long, 18mm at its widest. It is mounted on a silver plate curb chain that fastens with a simple bolt ring.
I made the pendant by building up coats of clear enamel on the copper shape, each fired separately. I then fired a coat of yellow enamel over that. I scattered pools of coloured enames on the yellow and drew throught the red hot piece to create the ransome patterning suggesting the parrot's plumage.
