This brooch is 30mm square. It is mounted on a 26mm brooch bar, soldered to the copper base. The pin secures with a rotating catch.
I made it by first building up several layers of enamel, each fired separately, on the copper shape. I fired a layer of red enamel over this. The copper base shows through the red in tones of golden-brown. I fired rods of turquoise, dark blue and yellow enamel over the red and disturbed the surface while the piece was at red hot in the kiln to create the random swirled patterns. The enamel cools as soon as the kiln door is opened and sets unevenly but smoothly, contributing a tactile element to the finished piece that interferes with the play of light to generate additional effects in the colour of the piece.
Your brooch will be sent boxed.
For UK delivery I use Royal Mail, first class, signed for; for european delivery, international signed for. if you prefer another delivery service please contact me.
