Item details

This beautiful bracelet was made using a traditional Japanese braiding called Kumihimo. This technique dates back to the era of the Samurai where the braids were used to lace together sections of armour.
This is an unusable blend of shell pieces and Japanese seed, small drop, large drop and petal beads in complimenting colours Turquoise, Green and a touch of iridescent blue.
Most pieces are unique as each bead is individually threaded on to each of eight braids (known as warps) and incorporated into the braid individually.
Finished with Tibetan style end caps and a Silver plated heart and arrow toggle fastening completes the look.
Approximately 19.5cm in length not including toggle.
This item is also available with a matching necklace (different style toggle fastening)

Love love love this piece! Braided with some beautiful iridescent shell pieces I salvaged from an existing necklace, and the different size drop beads give it a lovely texture. I love the idea of upcycling jewellery!
