Lest We Forget-
I feel it's so important to take the time to remember all those who have either lost their lives or whose lives have been affected in some way during the conflicts of the past and present.
The poppy is an iconic symbol of Remembrance Day and I wanted to make a textile art piece that reflected this.
My own photograph of a poppy was used as reference in the making of this piece.

Full description
This original textile art was made by firstly tracing the image from my own photograph taken of a bright red poppy. I then transferred it to red spotted fabric, which I have partly over laid with a piece of pretty lace.
The poppy outline was then free motion machine embroidered in a contrasting black thread to make it really stand out.
Finally, a cluster of tiny black seed beads were carefully hand stitched to the centre of the poppy to complete it.
This striking design will add colour to any space as a piece of original textile art, or can be displayed in remembrance to those who have fallen.
Ideal gift for anyone who loves poppies or any wild flowers.
This artwork comes to you MOUNTED ONLY to put in your own choice of frame should you require it, or can stand on a display shelf unframed.
