Merry Christmas one and all. My shop is now closed until the New Year. Thank you everyone who has shopped with me throughout 2023.

Inspiration is everywhere, but I do tend to take mine from the natural world. I let people see the patterns themselves, but I must say its lovely when someone says “oh this reminds me of silver birch” when that is exactly what inspired the carvings.

Full description

This is a porcelain hand carved bud vase, the perfect size for a delicate bloom. It is just right for something delicate like paper white narciccus, sweet peas or freesias.

It feels comfortable in the hand and quite cool and almost glassy. Each vase includes a little weight in it, despite the carving, to ensure that the vase doesn't become top heavy and tip over. Of course, this will only work with the right sized flower :)

This particular example has an opaque celadon style glaze that sinks into the carvings in the porcelain on the outside. The glaze overlaps a little on the inside, over a clear glaze which makes the vase easy to keep clean. Please note that everybody's monitor is ever so slightly different, which obviously makes it a littler harder to describe colour.

PLEASE NOTE: As each piece is made by hand, it may have slight imperfections. I make these in my garden studio, so each one has its own personality. The very nature of the material, porcelain, means that they may not be perfectly round, or they may not be perfectly straight. It just means each has its own personality.

I ship everything "tracked" and, where available, "signed for".
