This brooch was designed and made by us in our workshop in Yorkshire, it is made from sterling silver and 24 carat gold and it measures 30mm in diameter. It is made in the ancient Korean technique of Keum boo, where gold if fused to silver at a high temperature. Symbols and letters and have added by hand and marks have been scribed into the surface to give it a worn effect, to simulate the look of an antique found object. We also make a pair of matching earrings.
This handmade brooch has been finished with a clear, protective, anti-tarnish coating and it comes in one of our branded gift boxes.
We exhibit and sell our work through quality Craft/Design centres and Art galleries throughout the U.K. as well as through the Dazzle contemporary jewellery exhibitions.
Materials, sterling silver, 24 carat gold
Size, 30mm in diameter
This brooch is similar to our Keum boo round brooch but has scribed markings on it's surface. We have always been interested in antique nautical instruments, geometrical shapes, old scientific instruments, so inevitably, this has come through in our work. You can take a look at our pinterest page for an insight to some of our sources of inspiration.
