These Keum boo earrings are the largest of three Razor shell earrings that we make. They are handmade from sterling silver and 24ct gold and the technique used is an ancient Korean one called Keum boo, where gold and silver are fused together at high temperatures. The inspiration for these earrings came from razor shells that we found on a beach at the Yorkshire coast. The earrings measure 14mm by 53mm, even with their size they are still light to wear. These earrings hang on sterling silver ear wires, which we also make. They are designed so that the earrings are securely attached, so no need to worry about lost hoops or earrings

These textured earrings have been coated with a clear, protective, anti-tarnish layer and come in one of our branded gift boxes.

We exhibit and sell our jewellery through quality Craft/Design centres and Art galleries throughout the U.K. as well as through the Dazzle contemporary jewellery exhibitions and our own website.

As we were developing and learning about the technique of Keum boo, we came across some razor shells on a beach. We loved the shape and texture of the shell and we thought that it lent itself nicely to the Keum boo technique. It took us quite a while to work on the idea and develop the process but we were very happy with what we came up with in the end. These earrings are still one of our favourites and we make three sizes of these shell earrings.
