Items such as jewellery have been created using materials obtained from a variety of sources, some of which may be vintage and/or re-purposed. Please bear this in mind when visiting Niques Boutique.
All physical items when purchased will arrive carefully wrapped and packed, sometimes using recycled/repurposed packaging materials, such as plastic bubble wrap. Where I would normally do my upmost best to avoid the use of plastic, I also believe in recycling and reusing. Therefore please keep this in mind when purchasing from Niques Boutique and either reuse the packaging materials or recycle/dispose of responsibly.

This piece has been created using a range of techniques starting with embossed paper on a plain painted canvas stretcher.
When I am making collages I like to layer materials especially when I am using sheet music, as I like to be able to see fragments of the music visible through other materials. I usually use tissue paper applied with PVA glue, however for this piece I came across a small piece of ivory embroidered organza I had been holding onto for some time. I originally aqcuired it in a bag of bridal scraps and kept it knowing that it might come in handy. This has been layered onto vintage sheet music.
The yellow bird has been painted onto paper using acrylic paints and cut out. I have also painted directly onto the surface, as well as added some more cut-outs.
I hope for this little work of art to find a new home with someone who will appreciate it as much as I enjoyed making it.
