Full description
This butterfly measures 70mm by 41mm. It has a 26mm brooch bar soldered to the reverse, running along the length of the butterfly's body. The reverse is counter enamelled and I have cut this back to the copper to solder on the bar. The pin secures with a rolling catch.
The pattern is built on several layers of clear enamel that I have next covered with a layer of red. The copper beneath shows through this, golden brown, Over the red coat I have scattered white enamel and placed rods of blue enamel then, when these were at red hot in the kiln I drew through the butterfly to draw out the swirled patterns.
The butterfly will be sent in a soft cloth drawstring bag.
