Full description
This brooch measures 40mm by 30mm. It is mounted on a 26mm brooch bar soldered to the copper base. The pin secures with a rolling catch.
I have built up a smooth base of clear enamel over the copper shape then added a coat of turquoise through which the copper shines golden brown. Over that I scattered black and white enamel then generated the swirled pattern by drawing a steel point through the enamel as it was red hot in the kiln.
