Full description

The dolphin measures 42mm, nose ro tail. It is mounted on a 45cm silver plate curb chain that fastens with a simple bolt ring.

To make it, I first laid in coats of clear enamel over the copper base; this gives the golden brown colour of the dolphin's belly and lower fin and also allows the golden brown to show through the other coats depending on the direction and intensith of the light on the dolphin when it is worn, so creating a shimmer in the effect of the pendant. I then laid over this a coat of white, avoiding as best I could the belly and lower fin. Over that coat I laid in a coat of dark blue to get the mottled effect on the dolphin's back, tail and upper fin.
