This is a monotype print made using acrylic paints on a gelli plate. When dry, I added some details painting directly onto the print, as well as collage (my own graphite pencil drawing) and some free machine embroidery. I use only artist quality paints, such as Winsor and Newton, Amsterdam and Golden Artist Colors.

A monotype print is a one-off print that is made on a printing plate, in this case a gelli-plate which is made from gelatin. The print can be made in many ways, such as using stencils, masks, painting directly onto the plate, inking up the plate and then taking paint off with a cloth or cotton wool bud, to name but a few. It is one of my favourite means of making artwork, since it encourages experimentation and the end result is always a little bit of a surprise.
It comes with a small mount and a rustic, wooden, brown/black frame, and is glazed (with glass), with fixtures and cord on the back, ready to hang.

It measures 20 x 27 cms
and including the frame, 29 x 36 cms.

it will be packaged securely for transit, sent insured, and will require a signature upon delivery.

I made this monoprint during a session using the gelliplate in the studio, building the image up in several layers. The red against the black made me think of Remembrance Day and so I added poppies, and also free machine embroidered cow parsley wild flowers in white and some fern-like shapes in pale blue, to add extra texture and contrast to the finished piece.

In the hopefully unlikely event of a return, postage must be covered by the buyer and the item returned to me in the same condition it was sent out in.
