applique & freemotion embroidered bluetit fabric bookmark.
these bookmarks are quite substantial, measuring approximately 25 cm x 6 cm (10” x 2.5”).
the cute little bluetit is in a blue floral liberty print, with a yellow polka dot chest and pale blue linen detail on his wings and tail. his eye is hand embroidered, & tiny leaves in co-ordinating fabrics decorate the branches.
the fabrics are layered and appliqued onto cotton calico and the intricate details drawn on with freehand using the free motion embroidery technique.
this bookmark is made entirely on a domestic sewing machine.
everything is cut, stitched and handmade, with care, by me, ensuring each item is unique, well made and securely constructed.
due to the very nature of free motion embroidery & handmade, each bookmark will vary eeeever so slightly.
these bookmarks are made up with heavy weight calico, stiffened with interfacing, and the edges are neatly top stitched.
i prewash all of my fabrics so they should not shrink when washed.
my design is based on an original drawing by Little Black Heart, and is used under license.
