I set down to create a Christmas related design, and came up with a modern contemporary take on the traditional robin motif which is so omnipresent during the festive season. I wanted to create a different more abstract and graphical representation, and this was the result. Also the colours make it a more evergreen design and artwork rather than just a festive offering. The colours appealed to me as the design gives it a vintage feel which is such a juxtaposition with the modern graphical linocut design of the bird in a tree.
This was presented as a handmade card and it exhibited at the Trygve Lie Gallery, New York, as part of the Twitter Art Exhibit 2016 to raise funds for Foster Pride from 31 March-17 April.

Full description
A dainty Robin Linocut on heart print paper. In beautiful pink and white- a little different and unique rather than the usual Christmas colours of red and green. Makes this an evergreen piece. A Robin is not just for Christmas!
Made from a carved block of Lino from my original design, and then each print is handprinted individually, making each print unique and original.
Moss green print on pink and white background gives it a vintage look, evoking an image of nostalgic romance.
This has a beautiful Matt finish, printed on heavyweight acid free printed paper with fast water-based printing inks.
Each print will arrive in a cream deckled card mount individually signed and numbered by the artist, and will fit any standard frames or ready to gift in the mount itself. Will make a highly original and different gift for any occasion.
If you would like a ready to hang print, please send me a message to discuss, as I could send it in a beautiful black frame as shown in the images. This will fit any interior scheme.
The print is 10 x 15 cm approximately and the paper size is 20 x 25 cm thereby giving a generous margin for framing.
