Full description
I imagined this little bird (which I've based on the colours of a blue-tit) and just had to get him down on paper. From the sketch (you can see it in one of the photographs) this hand stitched piece of textile art was created.
For the bird's colourful plumage I've used a small piece of blue and yellow 100% wool felt. The rest of the picture is hand embroidered using quality DMC embroidery thread and for the seed heads I've used black seed beads (all individually stitched on).
The picture comes with the black front mount but NOT the frame. The embroidery has been properly 'laced' at the back, which stretches the work over artist's mountboard and keeps it smooth so it's all ready to pop into a frame of your choice. The mount measures 10 inches by 8 inches and the aperture measures 7 inches by 5 inches. Due to the beads you may find that framing without glass would best suit this piece.
A quirky, cheerful piece of textile art that would make a lovely addition to your home decor.
