Blackbirds are one of our most loved garden birds and for good reason - they're beautiful to look at and even more beautiful to listen to. They make a wonderful subject for art.
I've hand embroidered this blackbird using quality DMC threads onto a background of 100% recycled cotton. The blackbird is resting amongst bright green flower buds - the shade of which makes him look even more striking.
The embroidery has been stretched and 'laced' over a piece of stiff mountboard and is ready for putting into a frame of your own. The black framing mount is included but the frame is not. The frame used in the photograph is used to show how the piece would look in a frame.
The work and the framing mount both measure 10 inches by 8 inches and he apperture showing the embroidery is 7 inches by 5 inches.
As I design and embroider all my own work this really is a unique piece of textile art which has taken many hours of hand stitching. As well as being a lovely addition to your own home decor it would make a lovely gift to a bird/nature lover.
