We often see these beautiful butterflies in the woodland around the village. Gary noticed them feasting on the ripening Rowan berries and thought they would make a delicate study for a linocut.
This print appeared in the Society of Wildlife Artists annual exhibition held at the Mall Galleries in London.

Every time an image is hand pressed the anticipation of the reveal when pulling back the paper can make for some wonderful, unique images. The weight of the press, amount of ink and paper used means every single print is different, such a refreshing change in this digital age.
