When my lovely husband does the laundry he is very neat, hanging the socks - in pairs on the line, often in the same direction......my Zen is not unbalanced by this order and meticulous detailing - don't tell him but I sometimes mess them up for a giggle, along with the reorganised cutlery drawer in the dishwasher..... Quirky is as quirky does....hand painted high fired earthenware jug painted with socks on a washing line - with a rogue spare on the inside of the jug of course.
This jug holds 1.5 litres and is perfect for water on the table - loads of custard or simply 'for show' I use food safe underglaze colour in my work and the colour is applied thickly so you can feel the texture when you run your fingers over it. I fire to high earthenware temperatures using lead free glaze. All my work is free hand, there are no stencils or transfers. I back stamp and sign each piece and this piece is entitled 'blow your socks off'
this jug stands 17cm tall. I attach an artist information tag to the handle with jute string and wrap in tissue before dispatching using recycled materials wherever possible. I send out using First Class signed for service.
