It is a lovely maple panel and the natural ripple markings look a bit like reeds and the grebe is a wonderful shape. A perfect match!

Full description
Hand carved from lime and painted with acrylics, this great crested grebe is mounted on a spalted maple panel. The panel has been subtly colour washed to take advantage of the wood's natural markings. The bird has a painted glass eye and the whole piece has been waxed giving it a soft shine. The panel is 27cm by 17cm and has a twine hanging cord.
