Full description
This lovely sandpiper is completely hand made, carved with a knife from jelutong and then hand sanded, undercoated and given several coats of acrylic paint to build up the colours. It is not feather perfect but intended to show the character of the bird. This one has hand coloured glass eyes, bent metal legs and is finished with a coat of wax to bring out the colours and give a soft shine. It is mounted on driftwood and is 15cm tall, 6cm wide and 21cm trom beak to tail.
