Full description
This circuit contains two light-emitting diodes which flash alternately on and off. The rate of flashing on and off is constant and is determined by the transistors and associated components.
Different versions of the "Alternately Flashing L.E.D.s Using Transistors" kit are available. Please choose the colour of the two l.e.d.s you would like in your kit. Choose either two l.e.d.s of the same colour or any combination of blue, green, red or white.
Please have a look at a working version of the "Alternately Flashing L.E.D.s Using Transistors" circuit on the Irby Electronics YouTube channel.
When this circuit was tested, the Duracell Plus Power 9 volt battery was still producing a good light output after 40 hours of continuous use.
The circuit is made on track board (approx. 6 cm x 2 cm) and requires 1 x PP3 battery (not supplied). Precision soldering is ESSENTIAL for this kit so that solder on one track is not splashed across to an adjacent copper track.
These tools are needed to make this kit (not supplied):
small pliers for bending component leads and link wire,
small wire cutters for cutting component leads and link wire,
3 mm drill bit or sharp craft knife for breaking the copper track,
small, low power soldering iron, e.g. 15 watt, 18 watt or 25 watt.
Please read the safety warning in the About Irby Electronics section before ordering a kit.
