These jugs are thrown on the wheel into the basic cylinder shape.

They are dipped in our secret speckle glaze, at just the right moment to ensure the speckle comes through on firing.

Full description

This is a wheel thrown jug, made from British stoneware clay and created high up in the Cumbrian Hills. I throw these jugs in small batches and do a swift pull to form the spout.

They are then glazed in a deep bluey speckle that reminds me of birds eggs.

A super gift if you are after a cosy country kitchen feel, and a real treat to pop on your tea tray for milk, or with a splash of custard in to go with crumble after Sunday lunch.

Or you could snip some teeny wildflowers from the garden and keep in on a sunny windowsill.

This jug is made using food and dishwasher safe glazes and you can pop it in the dishwasher.

Please note that these items are handmade in very small batches - due to the nature of the throwing and glazing process each jug will have it's own character, and the speckle pattern will vary slightly from jug to jug.

All items are posted first class and gift wrapped.
